Returned from our cruise on Friday December 22. We were the last cruise they let sail before they closed the ports in Fort Lauderdale and Miami due to high winds and storms. They had both ports closed until Monday. We had 36 foot waves and it was very rough. Russ had to go buy me something for seasickness because the waves got to me. It wasn’t one of our best cruises for nice weather as we had rough seas and rain. I was still happy with my nice room and plenty of food to eat.  When we picked the dogs up from the kennel they both were doing some coughing but we didn’t think anything about it because we went and did laundry and bought food so we were busy running around. That evening they both were hacking away and vomiting. So we finally found a vet open that was 60 miles away so at 12:30am we hopped in the truck and headed to the vet. They both had kennel cough (even though they both were up to date on their kennel cough vaccine). We got back to the boat many dollars poorer and very tired …. What a long day!  Russ had ordered a new water pump for the boat before we left (since ours was not working). We hoped it would be here when we returned from our cruise. Guess what … no water pump! Russ called around Saturday to see where it was and found they wouldn’t send it because they couldn’t send it to a general delivery. So we are still without water in the boat and now have no idea when the pump will be here especially with the holidays.

On a brighter note it’s Christmas Eve and Christmas tomorrow. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas!  I will be trying to make Christmas dinner in the boat as there are very limited restaurants where we are. Tomorrow’s forecast is 80% chance of rain but high of 74. I guess we will spend our day in the boat luckily our TV is working pretty well so we’ll do some Christmas shows. Miss our family!

By the way we are going to see Dad in Naples the day after Christmas. We aren’t telling him and hope to give him a nice surprise. Merry Christmas everyone!
